28-Jun-2007 -- Late June we were at the international workshop Good Land Administration in Ulaanbaatar.
Workshop organizers arranged very nice program including outside visit to nomad settlement where local wrestlers had a tournament. It was rather impressive show. At the beginning wrestlers performed Phoenix bird dance then the whole group was divided by pairs and after a signal they started the battle. The rules of wrestling are simple - anybody who touches the ground first is defeated; neither wrestlers' weight nor height is accounted for. The battle continues between winners in pairs to the last winner. The champion is awarded title of The Titan and performed dance of eagle. The end of tournament was celebrated with a concert of local musicians.
Impressed with the country scenic landscape we decided to visit CP 48N 107E located in 15 kilometers to North-East from the city. In thirty minutes of drive we reached the nearest to CP place within 1.3 km from the point. After an hour of climbing over hills we got to the point.
At the back route we visited one of the famous places in Central Mongolia, picturesque Dambadarjaa Monastery
