23-Sep-2007 -- A nice Sunday afternoon with comfortable temperature around 20C. After a rather difficult approach from UB through some ger districts we simply followed an almost dry river bed towards North. We approached the confluence slowly bud steadily in this river bed. Once we reached below 3km we turned left up to the valley. While going up the hill the path became easier as gravel gave way to dirt. We managed to approach until 400 meters where we had to park the car and do the rest by foot. In the meantime there were only a few cows and yes some pigs to be seen, no human being, no gers, no civilisation, although we were only 10km outside of Mongolia's capital.
A short hike across the hill and we have reached our very first confluence at 48N 107E.
