(visited by Ross Finlayson) 24-Mar-2000 -- This confluence lies in (or near) Cooloola National Park, northeast of the town of Gympie. Fortunately the confluence is easy to reach, as it lies very close to the paved road that runs from Gympie to Rainbow Beach. This road runs within 0.8 km of the confluence. If you then take the spur road towards Cooloola Village, you can get just 100m from the confluence, which lies within a stand of large gum (eucalyptus) trees. (Unfortunately it was close to sunset when I took these photos, so they did not show up as clearly as I would have liked.) |
