21-Jan-2011 -- We are on our road trip home to Canada after visiting family in Florida. On our way through Texas we decided to take a little side trip to visit this confluence on the outskirts of Dallas, Texas. As we got closer to the confluence area, planes were flying low over the Interstate as they approached the nearby Dallas/Fort Worth Airport. There seemed to be an average of about one plane a minute as we were driving towards the confluence and while we were hunting for it.
It was a cold day in Texas standards, with the thermometer showing only 35°F at noon. It had dipped below freezing the previous night. The sun was shining after a cloudy start to our day in Houston. After entering the Convergence Business Park then driving around the paved road to the far side of the well manicured, treed and park-like area, we parked just 40 meters from the confluence. It would have been possible to park as close as 26 meters from the spot. There were parking lots near the various office buildings all around the complex. A person who came out of one of the buildings explained to Alan that this was like a shopping mall for businesses and was named "CONVERGENCE" as it was a convergence of businesses. There seemed to be many types and sizes of business buildings available. The one closest to the confluence is a very large warehouse type building.
We found the confluence on a lawn surrounded by buildings on three sides. It was very easy to get all the zeros. After getting photos of the GPS and the various directions I walked through a breezeway to take some photos on the other side of the building. After completing our visit, we headed off towards our evening destination of Amarillo, Texas.
