09-Feb-2012 -- One day break was planned during my winter sports holiday. What better could be part of that day than visiting a Confluence Point nearby? Of course the visit to the city Zwiesel, which is famous for its glass works, was scheduled as well.
The trip started at Bayerisch Eisenstein, leads through Bodenmais and Teisnach to Patersdorf. From the southern end of the village I followed the road B11/B85 direction east for about 1.3 km. On this point I took the junction to south and reached the road ‘Füchslanger’ with a house nearby. From here the ‘confluence forest’ is in a distance of only about 150 meters. I parked the car next to the road and walked the last meters straight though the wood. It was about minus 10 degrees and sunny. Around 11:00 a.m. I reached the Confluence Point 49° North / 13° East without any problems. The reception of GPS-signal was good as well and so I’ve got my screenshot with the many zeros on it quite fast.
It was an easy to reach location. The picture of the location was done in a distance of 50 m from the CP. Now this successful started tour could continue by visiting Zwiesel.
