09-May-2015 -- This is the first out of 4 reports reaching confluence points during a bicycle trip through Austria, Czech Republic, and Slovakia.
Friday evening at 9:40 PM I took the overnight train from Zurich to Vienna arriving there at 8 AM. Directly after my arrival in Vienna, I began cycling towards this confluence point. It took me 10 hours to cycle to the confluence point. In the afternoon I crossed the border into Czech Republic near Znojmo and reached the confluence point at 6 PM.
The confluence point is located right in the lower corner of a corn field. I walked along the edge of the field, where the best reading of my GPS was 37 m distance from the confluence point. Due to the crops I did not enter the field. At the hillside of the field, there is a monument of the Red Army. The village of Nenkovice is located just a couple hundred metres to the East.
Right after the visit, I had dinner in the nearby town Kyjov. I enjoyed dining outside while it was still sunny. What a mistake! Right after my dinner I had to find accommodation, but it turned out that everything was booked out. I finally ended up in Uherské Hradiště after 3 hours searching for a place to sleep, cycling in the dark during a heavy thunderstorm with hail and rain! What a pain.
