06-Jul-2015 -- Some of the earlier visitors focused on the run-down aspects of the area around the confluence point. When I asked the receptionist in my hotel about how to get there by bus, metro, etc. she just rolled her eyes and advised me not to go there. It is an area full of crime and danger, she said. The first taxi she called for me was obviously of the same opinion as he demanded a rate which indicated that he did not want to go. The second was better, though. He turned out to be a former soldier who had served in Iraq and thus been able to finance his new car. He said he would look after me...

Well, the only problem I had was to get the zeros on my Garmin which indicated that confluence point was right in the middle of a crossroad. The traffic was hectic and the zeros where not there when the camera was ready so I settled for 2 m. My first confluence point in South America.

Close to the intersection of Av. Santa Rosa De Lima and Los Minerales.
