06-Okt-2017 -- Nachdem wir einen Auftrag in der Nähe von Tarragona erledigt hatten, konnte ich meinen Kollegen auf unserer Rückfahrt davon überzeugen, einen kurzen Abstecher zum Confluence Punkte 42°N 3°E zu machen.

Wir verließen die Autobahn nördlich von Girona und näherten uns dem Confluence Punkt über Flaca von Norden kommend. Schmale Sträßchen führten uns durch die offenbar vorwiegend landwirtschaftlich genutzte Region Kataloniens.

Schließlich erreichten wir auf einem geschotterten Weg den Bauernhof, welcher nördlich des Confluence Punktes auf den Sateliten-Aufnahmen zu erkennen ist. Dort parkten wir, mein Kollege blieb am Fahrzeug und ich machte mich auf den ca. 400 m langen Weg zum Schnittpunkt.

Diesen konnte ich am Rand eines Feldes lokalisieren, unweit einer größeren Agaven-Staude. Auch sonst war die Vegetation interessant, ich sah diverse Kakteen. Ich konnte mich dem Schnittpunkt auf ca. 3 m nähern. Dort machte ich einige Fotos, auch eine Panoramaaufnahme. Dann ging es auch schon zurück zum Auto und meinem wartenden Kollegen - wir hatten ja schließlich noch 1200 km Fahrt vor uns.

06-Oct-2017 -- Having successfully completed our work near Tarragona, my colleague and I were on our way back to Germany. I could convince him to take a short detour to the confluence point 42°N 3°E.

We left the highway just north of Girona. Through the town of Flaca we approached the point from the north. On narrow winding roads we drove through this region of Catalonia which seems to be mainly of agricultural use.

On a gravel road we reached the farm which can be seen on the satellite photos just north of the confluence point. My colleague parked the car and waited for me while I rushed to the point in about 400 m distance.

I could locate it near the edge of a field, not far away from a larger Agave plant. I saw some other cacti as well. I could get as near as 3 m to the point. There I took some photos inlcluding a panorama shot. Then I had to rush back to the car since we had still like 1200 km to go.
