18-Jul-2018 -- During the summer holidays direction Pyrenees I had the chance to visit some confluence points. On the way back to Germany I visited 42°N 3°E.
By coming from Barcelona we took the motorway Ap-7. Near La Rasa we switched onto the road C-66, direction coast. Around 17 km later, the nearer area of the confluence was reached. The nearest distance to the CP on the main road was 320 m. But I had to pass this point for taking the next junction to the right. From the junction it was a distance of 1.1 km beeline to the CP. 430 meters before the CP I had to take a dirt road to the right, which leads upwards, through a wooded area. 190 m before the CP the dirt road ended, with a gate to a private property on the right side. There I parked the car and started the walk.
After passing a lower located field I reached the field with the CP on it. Both fields were already harvested. From the distance I recognised the agaves, which I saw on pictures of former visitors. Soon the needed pictures were done and the visit of the confluence point 42° North 3° East was finished. It was short past 3 pm. and it was very hot.
On the way back, directly at the junction from the main road, we found an interesting info post regarding the houses of "Anyells", which was a village in former times, and its importance for this region. Only 500 m after this junction the beautiful village Corçà appears. We had a nice break there with a lot of good photographic subjects. Everywhere you could see the Catalonian flag and the symbol of independence, a yellow bow.
A personal note at the end: this is my 100th visit of a confluence point :)
