06-Jul-2019 -- During our summer holidays in Canada, I took the chance to visit some confluence points. The story continues from
43°N 80°W visit #9.
From Mississauga at the Lake Ontario we neared the location of the confluence 44°N 80°W from the south, by taking the roads 7, later CR 18. About 7 km after passing Mono Mills we reached the crossing of the roads 18 "Airport Road" und 7 "Hockley Road". After 500 meters on Hockley Road direction southwest I parked the car between two drives of private houses, at the shoulder. The GPS showed the distance to the CP of 77 m. Directly next to the road I had to jump over a small swampy road ditch. Now the way leads through a light woodland, which was easy to walk. Maybe 10 m in front of the confluence point I had to cross a small creek. I chose a fallen tree trunk (see picture "view to north"), balanced over it and reached the exact spot 44°N 80°W immediately. The signal quality was good, so I could take the GPS-picture quite fast.
This visit was done within only 10 minutes. It was my second visit of a confluence point in Canada! A few meters away I found an old plastic bag, which I took with me. A small contribution to keep confluence points clean..
After this visit we continued our trip direction north to see the city Collingwood at the Lake Huron / Georgian Bay.
The story continues at 45°N 77°W.
