11-Jun-2023 -- This is the 1st of 6 CP visits made during a 9 week trip to Sweden and England.

The next is N51 E13. The plan this year was to drive to Sweden with my hikng, cycling and camping gear and spend about 5 and a half weeks in Sweden before driving to England for a couple of weeks to visit family and friends and then drive back via Belgium, Germany and Austria, again visiting family and friends on the way.

As it turned out I did 7740km during a period of 9 and a half weeks, but of course I did not know that at the time.

My intention was to visit some missing CPs on the way and do as many as possible in Sweden. The exact ones in Sweden were not clear as it depended on whether I got anyway near Stockholm or how far North I managed to get.

I visited my son Michael in Franking for a few days which meant that I could start my trip by visiting N50 E13 to the North on the way to my ferry in Rostock.

After a slow 260km drive I arrived in the village of Branišov just before 2 p.m. I packed my confluence hunting implements in my rucksack as well as some water as it was quite hot. It was about 2km to the CP. Initially along the edge of a meadow I then hooked up with a hiking trail that would bring me near to the CP. There has been some tree felling along the trail which meant that I lost the trail and ended climbing up a short hill through a jungle of stinging nettles, quite unpleasant as I was wearing shorts. Eventually arriving above the CP, about 40m distant, I walked down to the CP. I was surprised firstly that there were no trees and secondly to find a monument at the CP, not shown in any of the previous visits. This change must have happened since the last visit on the 24th June 2017. I don't know who did this and were not able to find someone to ask during my return to the car.

The usual photos were taken and I returned to the car and headed for N51 E13 in Germany.
