Après le point précédent, le mercredi 4 juin, je suis passé par le point 44°N, 1°E. Le temps était orageux mais j’avais réussi à échapper à la pluie quand je suis arrivé. Je suis arrivé depuis Castelmayran au nord, par la route de Caumont, puis le chemin de Cinestous.

Le point est situé lui aussi au milieu d’un champ cultivé, à 80m de la route. J’ai à nouveau laissé mon vélo au bord de la route et j’ai rejoint le point en quelques minutes.

Cela m’a pris beaucoup de temps pour obtenir un nombre de zéros suffisants sur la montre GPS avant de comprendre que je faisais face à l’est au lieu du nord comme je le croyais. Quand j’ai enfin compris mon erreur, une grosse bourrasque s’est levée. Le temps de faire les photos, et il tombait de grosses gouttes ainsi que des grêlons.

Je suis retourné rapidement rejoindre mon vélo où je me suis équipé contre les averses. En me retournant, j’ai vu que le sol dans le champs était désormais tout boueux et qu’il aurait été beaucoup plus salissant de le traverser maintenant.

After the previous point, on Wednesday, June 4th, I passed through the 44°N, 1°E point. The weather was stormy, but I had managed to escape the rain when I arrived. I arrived from Castelmayran in the north, via the Caumont road, then the Cinestous path.

The point is also located in the middle of a cultivated field, 80 meters from the road. I left my bike by the side of the road again and reached the point in a few minutes.

It took me a long time to get enough zeros on the GPS watch before I realized I was facing east instead of north as I thought. When I finally realized my mistake, a strong gust of wind had started. By the time I took the photos, heavy rain and hail were falling.

I quickly returned to my bike where I equipped myself against the downpours. Looking back, I saw that the ground in the field was now completely muddy, and it would have been much messier to cross it now.
