22-May-2001 -- On tuesday, May 22nd I reached point 52N, 15E.

It looks easy, because you can drive a car allmost to the confluence, but ... meridian 15.00.00,0E falls ... about 10 m into a pond... Standing on the bank I was 0,5" too far west... and waving the GPS did not help :-))) I wanted to take off my shoes and trousers and dive into the pond so as to catch and photograph my zeros... Fortunately the owner of the pond was nearby, and with a help of a spade we threw out some water from an old boat and were able to get off onto the pond.

It took us over 20 minutes to find zeros at both positions of the display... There were some holes in the boat, there were more and more water in it, the boat tilted more and more... I was concerned about my GPS and photo camera :-)) Finally we made it ! Display showed zeros, I made some photos and happy headed home...

Dzisiaj, we wtorek 22 maja dotarlem na punkt 52N, 15E.

Niby prosto, bo samochodem mozna wjechac pod samo przeciecie, ale... poludnik 15.00.00,0 E wypada... ok 10m w glab stawu hodowlanego... Stojac na brzegu bylem 0,5" za daleko na zachod... na nic zda³o sie wymachiwanie GPSem :-))) Chcialem zdjac buty i spodnie i wejsc do stawu aby zlapac i sfotografowac te upragnione zera... Na szczescie w poblizu byl wlasciciel tych stawow, i przy pomocy lopaty wyrzucilismy troche wody z podtopionej lodki ktora stala na brzegu, i ruszylismy na staw.

Trzeba bylo ponad 20 minut aby trafic na zera w obydwoch kolumnach wyswietlacza... W lodzi by³o kilka ladnych dziur, wody caly czas przybywalo i lodz coraz bardziej sie przechylala, a ja drzalem o GPSa i aparat fot. :-)) W koncu sie udalo ! Wyswietlacz wreszcie pokazal zera po przecinkach.... zrobilem fotki...

I tak uszczesliwiony ruszylem do domu....
