28-Aug-2001 -- This point is not under the dam's water, so we could reach it without any problem (quite the opposite to 43N 4W). Quite a beautiful march across your standard mountain scenery (not the Alps but almost) We could find tracks left by warthogs, deer and other big game. The building of this dam was quite controversial and it took a long time for the Government to have it built. Most of trouble was that the village of Riaño was to be submerged and therefore damages was paid to the inhabitants (besides building a new villages some hundreds of meters above).

28-Aug-2001 -- Pantano de Riaño. Este punto a diferencia de el 43 4 está fuera del pantano de Riaño, por lo que pudimos hacerlo sin ningún tipo de problemas. El entorno es muy agradable siendo un paisaje típico de montaña. Pudimos observar rastros de ciervos, jabalies y otros animales de gran porte. En su día la contrucción de este pantano supuso un gran problema social, sobre todo porque el pueblo de Riaño quedaba bajo las aguas y algunos de sus habitantes opusieron una fuerte resistencia a ser desalojados.
