28-May-2001 -- During my vacation in France, I visited the city of Rochefort
with my familly and took the opportunity to visit 46N1W near
that city. It is not that easy to find: you must first find
an exit on the nearby motorway, then wade through tiny
country roads and finaly trust the GPS, because the
confluence is right in the middle of a corn field with no
way to see much of the surroundings to know where one is.
After having walked for quite some time through a maze of
irrigation lanes, my GPS finally indicated I was near the
wanted spot and I took the CCD camera out. To my despair,
it jammed! Luckily, I was able (exercing some gentle pressure
on the jammed mechanics...) to convince it to change its mind
and took the attached pictures. As to be expected from a
corn field, the view is not that exciting, so I include
2 pictures from 46°00'08.2N1°00'03.5W nearby so that you can
have an idea of what the country looks like when it's not a
corn field.
