28-Jul-2018 -- After yesterday’s visit to the spectacular Degree Confluence Point 43N 1W in the Pyrenees, I knew that this point - three degrees to the north - would be boring and underwhelming. But this point was just a short detour from my drive from Bordeaux to La Rochelle, so I felt compelled to pay it a visit.
And indeed the point was rather boring and underwhelming. It lies within a bare farm field; I hiked about 600 meters each way from a narrow rural road (to the west of the point).
The views from the point are pretty much the same in each direction (though the small village L’Houmée is visible to the south).
