19-Sep-2001 -- Während unseres Urlaubs im Tiroler Kaunertal wollten wir die Gelegenheit nutzen, die beiden nächstgelegenen Confluencen (47N 10/11E) zu besuchen.

Unser erster Versuch zu 47N 10E führte uns von Platz im Kaunertal über die sehr schöne Silvretta-Hochalpenstraße in das kleine Dorf Gortipohl. Hier parkten wir das Auto an der Hauptstraße nach St. Gallenkirch, da wir nicht wußten, ob es mit dem Auto möglich wäre näher an die Confluence zu kommen. Nach dem wir ausgestiegen waren, stellten wir fest, daß wir vom Punkt noch etwa 900m entfernt waren und das GPS wies den Weg zur Confluence geradeaus den Seitenhang des Tales hinauf...

Wir folgten den Weisungen des GPS und liefen ein Stück talaufwärts bis zur Gaststätte „Fischer’s Fritz“. Hier verließ der Weg den Talboden und stieg in der Talflanke steil an und ich mußte Gabi bergan schieben. Wieder einmal fragte ich mich, ob das Confluencenjagen etwas für Rollstuhlfahrer ist??? Nach einigen Serpentinen erreichten wir schließlich ein schönes Bauernhaus vor dem die Straße endete. Hier mußte ich Gabi leider zurücklassen, da die weiterführenden Pfade hinter dem Haus für Rollstühle definitiv nicht mehr geeignet waren. Unglücklicherweise verlor das GPS im dichten Wald sofort sein Tracking und ich mußte ohne Erfolg zurückkehren. Wir liefen zurück zu „Fischer’s Fritz“ und tranken gemütlich Kaffee. Trotzdem war es ein schöner Ausflug.

During our vacation in the tyrolean "Kaunertal" we decided to take the opportunity to visit the closest confluences (47N 10/11E).

Our first trial with 47N 10E took us from "Platz" in "Kaunertal" into the little village of Gortipohl along the very beautiful situated road "Silvretta-Hochalpenstraße". We left the car in Gortipohl near the main road because we didn’t know if it would be possible to come closer to the confluence by car. After leaving the car, we discovered that we are still 900 metres away and the GPS directed us straight on to the side slope of the valley...

But we followed the advice of the GPS and went upward to the nice restaurant "Fischer’s Fritz". At this point the way led away from the ground of the valley and rose steeply in the side slope. I had to push Gabi steep uphill. Once more I was asking me if hunting confluences would be suitable for a wheelchair patient??? After passing some double bends we came to the end of the road with a very beautiful old farmhouse. Gabi had to stay here because the tracks starting behind the house don’t seemed to be suitable to a wheelchair. Unfortunately the GPS lost tracking in the deep and high forest and I returned to Gabi without success. We went back to "Fischer’s Fritz" and had a good coffee time. Altogether it was an exciting trip!
