10-Aug-2002 -- 41N 115W is probably the easiest confluence to reach in Nevada (if you happen to be in northeast Nevada). It lies about 5 feet west of a dirt track easily accessible from NV 232 and only a few miles off of US 93 south of Wells. Even Jan, who was nursing a broken ankle, stood on the spot and held the GPSR for the "all zeros" photo (#5). The confluence lies in the middle of a grass field much drier and browner in August than when Larry Mays visited in May of 2001. This is evident in photo #1 looking south down the dirt track. Photo #2 is looking down the same dirt track in the northerly direction with Jan holding the GPSR at the zero spot. Jan and Emma are shown in photo #3 looking east. US 93 is in the distance before the low hills in the background. Jack is in the view to the west (photo #4) showing the East Humboldt Range.
