23-Apr-2003 -- On the way to the Monterey area for a microcomputer conference, I was going to drive Hwy 17 from San Jose to Santa Cruz, and then Hwy 1 around Half Moon bay.

Since there is a confluence just north of Santa Cruz, I decided to visit it.

I followed the maps, leaving the highway at the Hwy-17/Hwy-1 intersection in Santa Cruz and drove up Branciforte Dr to De Laveaga Park. I parked there, and started looking for paths going up the hillside.

Just a few minutes later I got within 10-15 m of the point, before losing GPS lock. I had to move around a little bit, to get out of the heavist canopy, but soon I found that the exact spot was a few meters up from the center of the gully.

I made a panorama image from the point, before going back down. Since I was currently standing on a small path, I following it down. This is the best way to get to this confluence point, so I've tried to document it with a series of photos.
