31-May-2003 -- This is my first confluence. Visited this one first because it is very close to the Colorado Wyoming and Nebraska border. A log of that visit was made on www.geocaching.com. Once I realized that this confluence would be on the private property of High Point Bison Ranch, I knocked on their front door to get permission. I spoke with Jill like the previous confluencers and she gave me nice specific directions straight to the confluence on a government reclamation part of her property.
Photo five is the ranch property sign, High Point Bison, named as such because it is only a few hundred meters from the highest point in Nebraska of the same name. A visit to the confluence, higest point in Nebraska and Tri-State corner makes for a nice trip. Photo six is the GPS. I hope I got a clear enough picture to see "all zeros". I was very excited to see that for the first time. I've only had my GPS for about a month. My GPS read an elevation of 5314 feet with an accuracy of 17 feet. Photos one through four are East, South, West and North respectively, although they turned out really badly. I'm still working on my photographing skills. Let's just say that there is a lot of grassland to see. It's beautiful in its own right. While visiting the three spots, which took a couple of hours, I only saw two other cars.
I'm really looking forward to visiting more confluences. What a fun GPS activity.
