19-Apr-2004 -- Although this point has been visited several times already, it is only 8km from my parents' house, so it seemed a shame not to knock off a quick trip while I was visiting them.
This is really a five-minute confluence. As previous visitors have said, it's on the Barnstaple - Exeter road; you can park in the entrance to the field and walk the last 250m. Not challenging, but the upside is that I could carry my one-year-old daughter to her first confluence!
I settled for a 50m approach because to get closer would have meant walking on the newly sprouted crops. The view wouldn't have been any different, apart from the path north and south. In the end Rebecca actually got closer than I did, as she posed for her official visitor's photo.
