brazil adventure [10-Aug-01]
On their first attempt to 16°S 49°W, the confluence hunters got lost in the dark. On their successful second visit, after travelling through swamps and woods full of poisonous snakes and thorns, they finally made it out at 2:15 A.M.!

poland is complete [25-Jul-01]
Ten visitors (including one dog) met at 52°N 18°E, the last of Poland's 40 confluences to be visited! Thanks to Grzegorz Chyla for all his work.

A return visit to 35°S 117°E in Western Australia is successful, and makes it three out of six for a five day trip.

Foiled in your attempt to visit a confluence? Persistence will pay off; take a look at 33°N 80°W. On the fourth attempt, Tom McMurray was finally allowed to take pictures inside a Naval Weapons Depot in South Carolina!

We have just passed the 900 mark, after 853 primary and 47 secondary confluences!

Finally a confluence from Japan! A difficult trip into thick forest brought us 33°N 131°E, and 59°N 25°E is the first one from the lonely countryside of Estonia.

There's a new world map of confluences provided by Pima County, Arizona. It allows seamless panning and zooming of the entire world! You can double-click on a confluence to go to its page. A free MapGuide viewer plug-in is required. It's well worth the download.

canadian variety [31-May-01]
Seven visits cover six provinces, including 53°N 109°W and 50°N 103°W as the first in Saskatchewan. Snowshoes and volcanoes are part of 50°N 123°W, the first official confluence in British Columbia.

morocco & malaysia [28-May-01]
Desert and mountains at 31°N 7°W, the first confluence in Morocco, and what not to do when attempting 4°N 102°E in Malaysia.

scenic germany [24-May-01]
Confluence hunters in Germany have been very busy, producing many striking confluence photos recently, including 48N 8E (check out the photos of the route!), 52°N 11°E, three different visits to 48°N 9°E, and many more. The race is on for the two remaining unvisited primary confluences in Germany!

A successful visit to 37°S 175°E in New Zealand completes the first non-polar antipodal pair with 37°N 5°W in Spain.
