30-Nov-2008 -- We have to go up to Gateshead for our annual sales conference, being held on a Monday(!) so the decision is made to go up the day before. It is a 236 mile drive and going up and back the same day doesn't hold that much attraction.
The next decision to be made is "which CP's to visit on the way up". As I am travelling up with Pete, who is keen on the outdoors but never visited a CP before I chose easy to reach ones.
Collect Pete from home and about 50 minutes later we park up by the entrance to the water pumping station. On with the warm clothes as there is a biting wind and off we go.
I gave the 76CSx to Pete....
We soon find the spot, looking quite different to my last visit, document it and back to the car. As we have time in hand we decide to retire to the Railway Inn for a spot of Sunday lunch. A very warm welcome from the landlady Donna and a mountain of food on the plate.
Suitably refreshed, it's on to 54N-01W.
