19-Aug-2010 -- This point is on the way home from 54N-01W, it isn't that far - about 60 miles or so - but what a change in the weather. 54N-01W was a lovely summer evening with crop harvesting in full swing. Here, it's clouded over and raining quite heavily.
Never mind, I have my waterproof coat with me. Park up and walk down the track towards the edge of the CP field. There is now a gate across the track - padlocked - with a notice that it is private to the local angling club? A check on google earth shows that if you left at the edge to the CP field and then right at the end there is a lake...
As with 54N-01W, all the crops are gone from this field, not wheat this time but Rape seed. It's been gone more than day though as the field has already been ploughed ready for planting.
I know from previous visits here that the soil is heavy & sticky, being wet I expect the worst, but it is still fairly compacted from ploughing and my feet don't get too clogged up.
Take the required pictures, noting that the Camomile that was here in June when I visited with Rainer Mautz is also gone...
