31-Dec-2008 -- As the year draws to a close, I find myself with a spare afternoon, so decide to take in one last point for the year - taking the year's total to 38. The obvious choice being my "home" point. It's stayed below freezing today so it should be fun outside.
To try and add a twist to the visit, I program the sat-nav to take the shortest most direct route. I also decide not to just walk in the gate, but go down the field by the side and then cross over.
Park up as usual and walk off down the track, past a gate and a field that contains what many would say is simply old piles of junk. There are some old vehicles, lorries, piles of pallets, bricks and wire fencing. Rudimentary recycling perhaps?
I spot an old "barn" that is actually corrugated iron on top of two shipping containers, and some
office furniture you definitely wouldn't buy!
Hop over the stream and off to the point. Averaging gives me less than 6 feet and for the 15th point in a row I get a WAAS (or EGNOS if you prefer) lock on.
Shoot the photo's and on the way out I notice that the new building has now been completed.
