20-Nov-2014 -- After my visit to the point 50N 8E this morning, I come to visit the point 50N 9E. It is just along the highway A3 (E42) between Nürnberg and Frankfurt. But to reach it, it is necessary to take the exit 55 and to pass through the village of Mainhausen. After the village, a small road goes towards the south and enters the forest. Then you can park the car and following a nice path you have still 200 m by foot to reach the point below the trees.

It is right beside the highway, with less than 25 m from the cars and the trucks driving full speed. And I confirm what was said by some previous visitors: it is really a very noisy place!

It is a pity, because it is a pretty forest, with weymouth pines and beeches; the cones of the weymouth pines are full of resin, it is very practical to light fires. There are still many mushrooms, the weather is very sweet for the season and freezing has not come yet.

The Opel Test Center with a driver training center is at five kilometers towards the west, in Rodgau-Dudenhofen. It is inside a circular speed ring of 4.7 km, well hidden in the forest.
