07-Jun-2024 -- Dieses war der 16. CP (von insgesamt 19) auf unserer 4-wöchigen Großbritannien-/ Irlandtour 2024 und der letzte „auf der Insel“ – erster CP der Tour war 49°N 6°E gewesen.

Nun kamen wir von 52°N 0°W und dieser war “zum Inselabschluss” noch mal ein richtig einfacher, gleichwohl er wegen der “langen Wege” doch etwas Zeit in Anspruch nahm. Der CP liegt – von der Straße aus gesehen – auf der Rückseite eines mittelgroßen Feldes.

Ich hatte unser WoMo nördlich des CP im Kreuzungsbereich der “Acacia road” mit einem Feldweg (Bild 9) ca. 270 Meter vom CP entfernt geparkt. Da dieses Feld Anfang Juni natürlich bepflanzt war, mussten zum Schutz der Anpflanzung “weite Umwege” (in Relation zur Entfernung zum CP) in Kauf genommen werden. Beim Hinweg entlang der Feldkanten (Bild 7), beim Rückweg den ziemlich breiten Traktorspuren (Bild 8) im Feld folgend.

Fotos dauerten bei meiner Doppelbelastung mit den beiden Geräten natürlich auch etwas länger – gleichwohl der GPS-Empang auf offenem Feld natürlich sehr gut war. Nach knapp 25 Minuten ging's dann weiter nach Dover und zurück auf “den” Kontinent. Nächster CP dort war 51°N 3°E

07-Jun-2024 -- This was the 16th CP (of 19) on our 4-week campingcartour to Great Britain and Ireland 2024 – the tour had started at 49°N 6°E

By now we came from 52°N 0°W and this CP – being the last „on the island“ – was of the fast and easy kind. Seen from the road, the CP is located on the backside of a mid-sized field. I parked our campingcar at a junction of „Acacia road“ and a fieldtrack at a distance of approx. 270 meters to the CP. (pic. 9)

Of course at the beginning of june the crops on the field were well developed; so the ways to the CP were long (in relation to the distance of the CP). I walked along the edges of the field on the way to the CP (pic. 7), back followed wide tractor tracks inside the field (pic. 8) – so no danger for the crops. Taking the pictures with the two devices took it's time although GPS reading was quite good. After approx. 25 minutes we continued our journey towards Dover coming back to „the continent“. Next CP there was – 51°N 3°E
