07-Jun-2005 -- This confluence is a few kilometers from the Mitsukaido railroad station, which is on the Kanto railroad's Joso line. To get to the confluence from the station, I left the station to the west, crossed the tracks on a bridge to the south, and continued east across route 294. A short walk east along local streets then passed northeast of a temple and led to a road along the west bank of the Kokai river, which flows between dikes here. I crossed the Kokai and a neighboring canal on a bridge a few hundred meters to the south. The confluence was in the rice fields to the east. My photographs were taken at a point on a farming road approximately 30 meters west of the confluence. This time of year, the fields were flooded and planted. As in winter, this was still a peaceful spot.
