29-Jun-2005 -- The day started a long way east at 51N 14E and this was to be the last official point.
5E has been well described by previous visitors. I followed the advice of Terje Mathisen and set off from opposite Bredeveldstraat. The point is very easy from here – turn right at the end of the track (going right of the fenced area) and follow a rough track to the field. All very wet but very simple.
It was now 10pm - “sunset” - and my chances of making an 11th CP in daylight had gone – especially as the sky was still heavily overcast. So 10 points for the day and with the recce trip 12 points in a row in 3 days. Not too bad.
Despite this I was on autopilot and was determined to go there!
I had difficulty with buying petrol as I did not understand the self-service pumps. With the help of a kind local I paid 50 Euro for fuel from a diesel pump! Not much use for my petrol engine. I still have the refund form and hope that I will be reimbursed. A further 20Euro bought me petrol and I was on the way again.
The last photo shows the GPS at the 4 E but in darkness at 11.30pm! Why bother! Since my visit 2 days before the hay had been cleared and liquid manure spread on the grass field.
After a good night’s sleep I resumed my journey from Scotland to Kosovo!!
