05-Jul-2006 -- This confluence point looks very similar to [39,-118] - the confluence point immediately to the East - which I had visited earlier in the day. Both points are located in undulating desert terrain, filled with small, sparsely growing bushes. (Also, both points showed no sign of their many previous visitors.) However, while [39,-118] is located inside a small gully, this confluence point is located near the top of a ridge - affording much better views. Also, the late afternoon sun produced some interesting looking photos of what would otherwise be a rather bland confluence point.
To reach this point, I took a dirt road South from highway "Alt US 95" - at almost exactly 119 W longitude. This road passes 0.6 miles to the East of the confluence point. However, a narrow doubletrack then leads to a point 0.3 miles away - leading to an easy hike (although across undulating terrain).
