06-Jul-2008 -- The day after I visited 53°N 7°W we left Dublin, to visit with relatives in Northern Ireland.
A week later, we arrived for a stay with some more relatives. They happened to live close to 55°N 7°W, so I had hoped to do this confluence during our visit with them. After dinner the first night, they suggested a drive to the confluence. I had never done an "after dinner confluence visit", but at this latitude in the summer, it is light well into the evening, so off we went.
The actual confluence is in a farmer's field, and I didn't want to bother disturbing the landowner, so I documented the confluence from the edge of the road. The confluence photos are taken from the coordinates shown in the first GPS photo, 27 metres from the confluence. 55°N crosses the road just behind the car that is in the East photo.
As we started to drive away from the confluence, we noticed someone outside, next to one of the houses in the West photo. We drove up the driveway, but that person had gone inside, however, there was someone at the door of the house on the right. I got out and talked to the couple who live there, who run the farm. Although they gave me permission to go onto the field, I decided that I had already documented the confluence well enough.
The next confluence on this trip was 55°N 2°W, in England.
