10-Jul-2009 -- This is the 74^th of a series of 83 confluence visits during our voyage from Nigeria to Europe and back to Nigeria around the entire African continent. It all started on 28 January 2008 at 11N 5E.

The last two days we had spent at the Anib guest farm outside Mariental and visited an old friend of ours. From the guest farm we drove on the C20 for a few kilometres towards Hardap till we got to the turnoff onto the D1268 towards Hoachanas. This road bypasses the Confluence by 2.4 km and we found a farm gate which was open.

This road leading to the farmhouse and bypasses the Confluence by 1.6 km. We drove to the farmhouse which is 2.9 km from the Confluence and wanted to get permission from the farmer. Unfortunately, there was no one to be found.

We drove back the way we came and found a farm gate which was not locked and followed the path along a fence till we got onto a path leading us the last 600 meters to the Confluence.
