22-Jun-2011 -- I first visited this confluence point in 1999, before the end of selective availability. Now, almost 12 years later, I decided to make a small detour (while driving to Yosemite) to revisit this point - to get "all zeros", better photos, and to see what had changed.
Unlike some other confluence points that have been swallowed up by 'urban sprawl' in recent years, this point looks exactly the same: It lies alongside an urban road running north-south through a rather bland farming area. As George Cameron described it in 2007 - it's "unremarkable in most ways". The only significant change since 1999 was to the house that's across the road: Its exterior (at least) has been renovated, but (unlike 1999) is now unoccupied - perhaps a victim of the housing crash. And the 'territorial doberman' that tormented me in 1999 is now presumably resting in 'doberman heaven'.
The actual confluence point lies just on the other side of the barbed-wire fence that runs along the eastern side of the road.
