29-Oct-1999 -- The easiest confluences to visit are
those that lie on a road that has been laid out to follow that
particular latitude or longitude. Such is the case with [38,-121] (in
central California, east of Stockton).
It turns out that much of the "Escalon-Bellota Road" (aka. San
Joaquin County Road J-6) was laid out to follow longitude 121 W, so
finding [38,-121] was easy: Just drive along the road until you hit
latitude 38 N!
Unfortunately this confluence was not only easy to find, it's also
pretty boring. The confluence occurs as the road runs through bland
farmland (cattle). There was, however, a small farmhouse next to the
road at this point, and a very territorial dobermann barked and snarled
at me as I took photos.
