Ein Kurztrip in die Toscana sollte eine schnelle Konfluenz hergeben. 15 Kilometer Umweg neben der Autobahn A1 zwischen Parma und Piacenza versprachen einen Quick-and-Dirty Visit.

Dirty Schuhe gab es zwar, aber quick war nix: Das Kornfeld in voller Reife wollte eher nicht betreten werden. Für die Annäherung über das Maisfeld im Regen hatten wir die adäquate Afrika-Ausrüstung (Gummistiefel) nicht eingepackt. In 195 Meter Entfernung blieben es nur quietschnasse Füße.

Dafür gönnten wir uns im 134 Kilometer entfernten Industriestädtchen Crespi d’Adda ein Drive-Thru Sightseeing.

Erst auf dem Weg zum San Bernadino verriet das Schweizer Radio, was mich am Morgen um 4.00 Uhr aus dem Schlaf geschüttelt hatte: Das Epizentrum des heutigen Erdbebens der Stärke 6,0 liegt knapp 100 Kilometer südwestlich der Konfluenz.

A short trip to Toscana should bring a fast confluence too. A 15 kilometre detour beside the motorway A1 between Parma and Piacenza promised a quick and dirty visit.

In the end there were dirty shoes but no quick visit: The grain field shouldn’t be entered at this stage of maturity. For an approach by the maize field in the rain we had not packed up the Africa equipment (rubber boot). So we stayed with only wet shoes 195 Meters away.

Instead we granted ourselves a Drive Thru Sightseeing at industrial town Crespi d’Adda 134 kilometers away.

At the ascent to San Bernadino the Swiss the radio told us what shaked me up in the morning at 4.00 o'clock: The epicentre of the today’s earthquake Richter scale 6.0 is located 100 kilometers southwest of the confluence.
