Im Flugzeug von Irkutsk nach Nowosibirsk sehen wir im Reiseführer, dass die dort angegebenen Koordinaten für einen Besuch eines CP günstig erscheinen. Wir haben etwa acht Stunden Aufenthalt in der Stadt, bis wir nach Omsk weiter fliegen können.

Auf dem Smartphone erkunden wir mit dem WLAN des Flughafens die genaue Lage des CP. Unsere GPS-Geräte haben wir in den Rucksäcken und die sind bis Omsk gebucht. Wir notieren uns die Straße und Haltestelle in der Nähe. Fahren mit dem ersten Bus bis zum Bahnhof und dann mit der Linie 42 bis zur Haltestelle Lastotschka („Schwalbe“). Es ist sehr warm und in dem Park sind die Mücken unerträglich.

Mit dem auf unser Smartphone geladenem GPS–Programm gelingt es uns bei aller Mühe nicht, alle Nullen korrekt zu fixieren. Irgendwann fliehen wir zerstochen an die Hauptstraße in das Wohngebiet. Nachdem wir das Postamt des Stadtteils besucht haben, fahren wir ins Stadtzentrum und bummeln durch die Stadt. Am Nachmittag fliegen wir nach Omsk, von wo aus wir am nächsten Tag mit dem Zug nach Moskau starten, um von da mit dem Rückflug unsere Reise zu beenden.

Acht CP-Punkte: Ein erfolgreicher Nebeneffekt dieser Urlaubsreise.

In the plane from Irkutsk to Novosibirsk, we see in the travel guide that the coordinates given there appear favorable for a visit of a CP. We have about eight hours stay in the city until we can fly on to Omsk.

On the smartphone, we explore the exact location of the CP with the WLAN of the airport. We have our GPS devices in our backpacks and they are booked to Omsk. We make a note of the street and a bus stop nearby. Then we take the first bus to the railway station and then the 42 bus to the Lastochka ("swallow") stop. It's very warm and the mosquitoes are unbearable in this park.

With the GPS program loaded on our smartphone we are not able to fix all zeros correctly. At some point we flee to the main street into the residential area. After visiting the post office of the district, we drive into the city centre and stroll through the city. In the afternoon, we fly to Omsk, from where we start the next day with the train to Moscow to end our journey with the return flight.

Eight CP points: a successful side effect of this holiday trip.
