12-Jul-2018 -- During the summer holidays direction Pyrenees I had the chance to visit some confluence points.
After visiting the big and very impressive city Bordeaux we took the motorway A63 direction south. At first I missed the correct exit, leading to road D38. So I did a turn at the next one, drove back and took the correct one. Caused by road works we had to take a detour, leading through the little village Sindères and from there back to the D38, to Morcenx. From there the way leads direction south west, to the village Garrosse. Six kilometres later I reached the water tower, which is well known from former visits. The whole area around is planted with conifer trees. Near the tower is a junction. There I had to leave the tarred road and follow a gravel road, direction NNE. 700 meters later I reached the closest point on a road to the CP. The GPS displayed 125 m to go.
After a short walk, upon sandy and grass-overgrown ground, I reached the nearer area of the confluence 44°N 1°W. The point is located at the edge of a forest. Also heath was growing in between. After the visit I couldn't turn the car because of the narrow and heightened way. So I reached the water tower by backing out.
This visit was an easy one, but took place with a big detour.
