13-Aug-2022 -- Esta narrativa é uma continuação da visita à confluência 40N 82W.

Após as duas primeiras visitas do dia, seguimos viagem rumo à terceira, ainda antes da parada para o almoço. Seguindo pela rodovia I-70, atravessamos o rio Ohio, divisa entre os estados de Ohio e Virgínia Ocidental, e apenas 21 quilômetros depois, atravessamos uma nova divisa interestadual, entrando no estado da Pensilvânia.

Seguimos mais alguns quilômetros e, em seguida, viramos à direita e iniciamos um desvio de 30 quilômetros até a pequena comunidade de Fredericktown. Paramos o carro em uma rua, a apenas 25 metros do ponto exato.

Desci do carro e registrei a visita a apenas 6 metros da confluência, na rua. Não zerei o GPS para não entrar no gramado e me aproximar demais de uma casa.

Vale destacar um fato interessante, que é a visita que Ross Finlayson fez a esta confluência, apenas 6 dias antes da minha visita. Assim como eu, ele registrou a visita a partir da rua e suas fotos, por isso, são muito parecidas com as minhas. No dia em que ele fez a visita, eu estava viajando do Brasil para os Estados Unidos. E, de acordo com o horário em que ele esteve lá (considerando que a foto do GPS dele mostra o horário correto do fuso horário do local da confluência), nesse mesmo instante, eu estava no Aeroporto de Washington, aguardando meu voo para Nova York.

Outro destaque interessante que merece ser feito é que esta confluência é o que Rainer Mautz chama de “hiperconfluência”, que é uma confluência com latitude e longitude múltiplos de dez. Trata-se da segunda hiperconfluência que eu visito. A primeira foi a 20S 50W, no estado de São Paulo, em janeiro deste ano. Naquela oportunidade, eu comentei que eu demorei muito para visitar minha primeira hiperconfluência, já que, considerando que há uma hiperconfluência para cada 100 confluências, e considerando que naquele momento eu já tinha visitado 170 confluências, eu já deveria ter visitado minha primeira hiperconfluência há muito mais tempo. Agora, com esse segundo registro de hiperconfluência ainda antes de ter completado um total de 200 confluências, a média se torna mais próxima do esperado.

Após a visita, retomamos a viagem. Seguimos até a orla do rio Monongahela, que passa muito próximo da confluência (há uma foto desse rio no citado registro de Ross Finlayson), contornamos uma curva do rio e, em seguida, voltamos para a rodovia I-70, onde paramos para almoçar, quando já era 14h15min.

After the two first confluences of the day, we headed to the third one, still before the lunch stop. Following by I-70 Highway, we crossed Ohio River, interstate line between Ohio and West Virginia States and, only 13 miles after, we crossed a new interstate line, entering in Pennsylvania State.

I drove some more miles and, then, I turned right and started a 19 miles detour up to small town of Fredericktown. We stopped the car at the street, only 25 meters to the exact point.

I left the car and registered the visit only 6 meters to the confluence, at the street. I didn’t get all GPS zeroes because I didn’t want to enter in the grass area nor to go so near to the house.

It’s remarkable the fact that Ross Finlayson had visited this confluence only 6 days before my visit. As me, he had registered the visit from the street and, then, his photos are very similar to mine. At the day in which he registered the visit, I was travelling from Brazil to the United States. And, according to the time when he was there (considering that his GPS photo shows the right time of the time zone of the confluence place), at that same moment, I was at Washington DC Airport, waiting my flight to New York.

Other remarkable fact is that this is the kind of confluence that Rainer Mautz names “hyperconfluence”, which is a confluence with both latitude and longitude multiple of ten. This is the second hyperconfluence that I had visited. The first one had been 20S 50W, at São Paulo State, Brazil, at January of the current year. In that opportunity, I had commented that I had lasted much time to make my first hyperconfluence visit, because, considering that there is one hyperconfluence in each 100 confluences, and considering that in that moment I had already visited 170 confluences, I might have visited my first hyperconfluence since long time. At now, with this second registered hyperconfluence even before 200 visited confluences, the average turned nearer to the expected.

After the visit, we resumed our trip. We headed to the edge of Monongahela River, which passes very near to the confluence (there is a photo of this river at the cited Ross Finlayson register), we followed a curve of this river and, then, we came back to I-70 Highway, where we stopped to take lunch, when it was already 14:15.
