06-May-2023 -- This is the last out of 9 reports reaching or attempting confluence points during a one-week bicycle trip in Northern Spain from Santiago de Compostela to Barcelona. The story starts from 43°N 8°W and continues from 42°N 1°W.
In the morning I started cycling from the in the village Castejon de Valdejasa, which is 80 km west of this confluence point at 42°N 1°E. After an early start with the first daylight I arrived in the early afternoon at this point.
The confluence is on slightly hilly agricultural land. Nearby is the Canal de Terreu. The nearest villaga is Laluenga 4 km to the west. The confluence is easily reachable over a gravel road within 250 m. In my case, the field was already harvested and I could directly walk to the confluence. But this is no reason to envy me: there was fresh slurry all over the place and I had to walk over the stinky disgusting manure.
After the visit I stayed one more night in the town Balaguer. The following day I finished my bicycle trip in Barcelona. It was a great trip! However, my airline (Swiss) refused to take my bicycle because it was not packed according to the official rules. I had to decide whether to postpone my flight or surrender my bicycle. After adding the rebooking fee, hotel, taxi, bicycle transport fee, the cost of the official case and one day more out of work, I decided to fly without my almost new bicycle. Now I have to buy a new one.
