#1: CP on stump at edge of forest towards north

(visited by Heinz-Werner Goetz)

18-Jun-2004 -- Having bagged 49N 11E, I decided to complete this trip to Bavaria with a second visit.

As I had not intended to visit another confluence when I had left home in the morning, I had to contact my friend Navigator Guenter by cell phone in order to get strategic information about how to approach this CP.

He quickly went online, checked his maps and transmitted the following briefing: “Take the A3 highway, leave it at exit Sinzing, transit Vogelsang towards west until you are below the highway and walk a little bit further westward on a forest trail.” Fine. This was completely correct, as I now know. And would have afforded only a very short walk. But I didn’t find any Vogelsang, don’t ask why (“confluence exhaustion”?).

So I transited the village of Sinzing and left the ST 2394 road between Bruckdorf and Unteralling in a northern direction and crossed a brook called Schwarze Laaber. Soon I had to park the car and to walk. Fortunately I caught a forest track that led me more or less directly to the CP, which lay at a bee line distance of 1,33 kilometers. I would almost dare to call it a Autobahn-CP, as it can be reached from the A3 within a few minutes and the traffic noise can still be heard there, although the confluence is located in the forest.
