30-Aug-2004 -- Wir fuhren am nördlichen Plattensee im Ort Káptalanfüred zum Bahnhof und parkten unser Auto direkt am Strandbad, von wo es noch circa 1000 m bis N47 E18 waren.

1. Versuch (vom Land her) Wir machten uns zu Fuß auf den Weg zwischen den Gleisen und der Fahrbahn, wo ein gut ausgebauter Radweg uns bis auf 130 m Abstand zum Punkt brachte. Da sahen wir im Gebüsch und Schilf einen kleinen Pfad zum See. Schnell überquerten wir die Gleise und kamen auf einem Holzsteg bis zu einem Gittertor. Der Zaun daneben war schief, so dass wir uns um das Tor herumhangeln konnten Am Ende des Steges fanden wir zwei Ruderboote von Fischern. Es waren von hier noch 95 m bis zum Punkt. Ein Weiterkommen war aber leider so nicht möglich. Das Boot zu benützen haben wir ungefragt natürlich nicht gewagt. Deshalb versuchten wir es noch einmal von der anderen Seite.

2. Versuch (vom See her) Im Strandbad gab es einen Bootsverleih, wo wir bei Kosztandi Istvan für 1200 Forint ein Tretboot für eine Stunde mieteten. Diese Zeit reichte gut. Am Schilf entlang, immer in sicherem Abstand von den Schwänen fuhren wir etwa 800 m weit und näherten uns dem Konfluenzpunkt bis auf 50 m. Näher wollten wir mit dem breiten Boot nicht an das Schilf heran, um nicht hängen zu bleiben. Nachdem die Photos gemacht waren, genossen wir bei herrlichem Wetter das Gefühl, einen Konfluenzpunkt gefunden zu haben und beobachteten die hie und da auftauchenden springenden Fische, bis wir zurück ins Schwimmbad mussten. Wahrscheinlich wunderten sich die Leute, warum wir nicht ein erfrischendes Bad nehmen wollten, was wirklich sehr verlockend war, aber wir wollten noch nach Kroatien fahren und freuten uns am herrlichen Anblick des Sees in den Abendstunden vom Auto aus.

30-Aug-2004 -- Driving to the northern edge of the Balaton we arrived in Káptalanfüred and parked at the station, near the beach. 1000 m to N47 E18 were left.

At first we tried to go to the point from the landside. We walked on a way between the street and the railroad. On this way, the minimum distance to the point was 130 m. But the point seemed to be in the middle of the reeds. Then we saw a small path, leading into the reeds. So we crossed the railroad-tracks and followed the path onto a very small, wooden foot-bridge, which led to a gate.

We could pass the gate on the left side, because the fence was a little damaged. At the end of the foot-bridge we were 95 m from the point, but we didn`t want to use one of the two boats at the end without permission and walking on without the bridge was impossible. Thus we had been in the 100 m distance of the point we wanted to try to come nearer.

So our second attempt was from the water-side.

We went back to the beach near our car and rented a water-bike for one hour. Along the reeds it took about 20 minutes to get the 800 m, but we couldn`t get a smaller distance then 50 m, because the reeds might have damaged or stopped the boat. So we took our photos from there and enjoyed the wonderful weather-conditions on our way back. Again we didn`t go for a swim N48E18, because we wanted to reach Croatia on the same evening. But the driving along the northern shore of the Balaton was wonderful, too.
