#1: The confluence point lies in a (currently fallow) field. (This is also a view to the North, towards several large wind turbines.)

(visited by Ross Finlayson)

25-Aug-2019 -- This could have been a boring Degree Confluence Point - in the middle of a mostly-flat fallow farm field, with similar views all around. But the presence nearby of several large wind turbines made this point much more interesting. Unlike Rainer Mautz, I don’t tend to give names to points that I’ve visited, but if I were to name this one, I’d call it “The Somme Wind Turbine Point”. (Rainer, who visited back in 2005, named it "The Centre of Wheat Field Confluence”. It appears that the wind turbines weren’t present then.)

I approached this point from the South, by parking where a narrow, mostly-paved rural road intersects an even narrower dirt farm road. From there I hiked about 300m North across the field to reach the point.
