30-May-2005 -- Kim and I were on our way to the annual Cheese Rolling at Coopers Hill and decided to do this CP on the way. It was a nice day and it was close to the small Village of Alderton. We parked the car in Beckford Road, close to the Public Path to Dumbleton, at this spot the CP was only 90m away.
We walked down the path. The GPS was showing the CP to be close the fence line of two paddocks. We took a chance on the second paddock, but when we got close to the CP the GPS was showing it was just on the other side of the fence, in the first paddock after all, so over the fence to get all the zeros on the GPS. Had we taken the closer paddock, the owner had just mowed a nice path straight to the CP. I changed the display on the GPS for this photo, making the Lat. and Long. larger on the display.
Alderton is a very nice village. We now headed to Coopers Hill for the Cheese Rolling.
