09-Jun-2022 -- Living on the 52nd latitude in Germany (between 52°N7°E and 52°N8°E) I wanted for a long time to travel along this line on one of my next holidays. 10 years ago, I visited 52°N 9°W and 52°N 10°W in Ireland – a worthwhile destination for a new journey, and why not visit some more of my western neighbors on the way? Let's see how it works out …

In June of this year, I packed the car, took the “52°N”-ferry from Hoek van Holland to Harwich and circled the London area in a wide northern arc. In the afternoon of the 9th of June, I found back to 52°N not far from the village Alderton, where the CP 52°N 2°W is located.

I took a footpath east of the CP, but barred with shrubs and barbed wire I found no access to the meadow with the CP. Another attempt via a courtyard entrance southwest of the CP was successful. I could climb over a gate and reach the zeros on the navigator in the tall grass on the northern end of the meadow. The photos were taken quickly, and at 3 p.m. I continued my way west to my second CP for today, 52°N 4°W in Wales.
