25-Mar-2007 -- After yesterday's miserable visit to [50,13], it was nice to visit a pleasant, mellow confluence once again. [49,14] is located just a few meters from a paved road south of the pretty town of Prachatice. Unlike yesterday, the weather was sunny, although still rather cold (about 6 degrees Celsius), with snow still on the ground at the confluence point. Like the previous two Czech confluences that I had visited ([50,14] and [50,13]), the confluence point had been marked by previous visitors.

Two relatively modern houses have been built just a few meters from the confluence point. Unlike some of the other towns that I passed through on my drive from Plzen, Prachatice seems quite prosperous, with a clean, renovated town square, and several new houses on the outskirts.
