01-Jan-2009 -- Das Ziel der diesjährigen Sylvester-Confluence-Tour war Nord-Frankreich. Nachdem wir den Jahreswechsel am Strand von Calais verbracht hatten, fuhren wir am frühen Morgen des 1. Januar 2009 in östliche Richtung bis nach Les Hemmes - dort parkten wir gegen 08:30 Uhr Renates Golf an den Dünen und spazierten dank bei Ebbe trockenen Fußes die 600 Meter ins Meer hinaus. Gute Vorbereitung zahlt sich eben aus!

Der Confluence-Punkt war natürlich nicht zu verfehlen und bei besten Empfangbedingungen war er auch schnell lokalisiert und die benötigten Aufnahmen gemacht. Um die frühe Tageszeit waren wir alleine am Strand, erst auf dem Rückweg kamen uns zwei Fischer am Strand entgegen. Wir hielten uns nicht allzulange auf, wir hatten noch einige Waymarks und einen weiteren Confluence-Punkt auf dem Plan für heute.

01-Jan-2009 -- Northern France was the target of our Confluence-Trip at New Year's Eve. After having spent the night in Calais we went to Les Hemmes early in the morning of January, 1st. At around 08:30 AM we parked Renates car at the dunes and took a short walk of about 600 metres out into the sea - without getting wet. Preparation pays off!

Of course it was very easy to locate the exact position of the confluence point, the GPS reception was very good. We took the necessary photos and went back to the beach. Due to the early time we didn´t see many people at the beach, we came across two fishermen on our way back to the car. We didn´t spent any more time at the beach, we had some waymarks and one more confluence point to visit today.

About 600 m off the French coast in the English Channel.
