22-Jan-2010 -- Yes, good preparation is everything at this confluence. I arrived here early in the morning after a long trip through the dark and foggy night. At 7. a.m. it was still dark but the sea level was already deep enough to enter the beach.
But it was cold and really bad weather so I decided to have a coffee in the nearby nice small city called Gravelines and to wait until sunrise. It´s funny, because this city is the sister city of the town where I grew up and where my parents live. I have never been there before, and now I walked through the dark city and saw places of which my parents have taken pictures years before.
After this short sight seeing tour I drove back to the parking space at the beach about 600 m away from the confluence. This point was very easy to find of course, the signal was strong as never before. I had no problems to get the Zeros and to keep them on the GPS for minutes and to take my photos without any hurry. Great. Well, besides my GPS, there was nothing else to see except of sand and sea and some birds. So I went back to the car and continued my ride to 51N-3E.
