29-Aug-2010 -- An email telling me that my visit to 51N 19E was up on the site arrived the morning I was due to drive back from Czech to Poland... and yes there was 50N 18E right next to my route.
It was a lovely sunny day and I parked on a quiet side road of what seemed to be the quietest of quiet Czech villages (well at least in contrast to Poland anyway - the Czechs seem to have a different and more silent relationship with motor transport)
There is now a little path up to the confluence. The dense canopy meant I had to wait quite a while to get all the zeros. A nice open forest - it would have been excellent for a run - but having just spent 80 minutes running in the Czech ARDF championships - I gave it a miss.
Walking back into the village I noticed that the traffic light was always showing RED - if a car drove up to it slowly - it went GREEN and the car did not have to stop, but if an Audi (in Czech and Poland it always seems that there is a black Audi on your tail) screeches up at 90kph - the light stays RED until the car has come to a complete stop and waited a wee while. Clever, very clever indeed.
