27-Jul-2011 – Wie jeden Sommer starteten wir vom Europäischen Go-Kongress, in diesem Jahr in Bordeaux. Zunächst ging es in Richtung Osten, um das Weinstädtchen Saint-Émilion zu besuchen. Von dort fuhren wir über kleine Landstraßen nach Nord-Osten in Richtung 45°N 0°. Ein geteerter Feldweg führt direkt daran vorbei, man müsste nicht einmal aussteigen. Von der in Sichtweite nördlich verlaufenden Autobahn A89 aus gibt es sogar eine Notausfahrt, die aber mit einem Zaun mit Tor gesperrt ist. Der Punkt ist auf einer grünen Wiese, die von Büschen , Bäumen und dem erwähnten Feldweg eingefasst ist. In der Nähe des Confluence-Punkts befindet sich auch ein Geocache, der ebenfalls gehoben wurde.

Etwa 100 m südöstlich steht auf einer Wiese ein interessantes Stahlrohrgestell, das an diesen besonderen Confluence-Punkt erinnert. Es ist allerdings keine Erläuterung dabei, für einen zufällig vorbeikommenden Besucher ohne GPS bleibt es unverständlich. Nachdem wir die üblichen Fotos gemacht hatten, fuhren wir dann wieder nach Westen in Richtung 45°N 1°W

27-Jul-2011 – As every summer we started at the European Go Congress, this year in Bordeaux. At first we headed east to visit the wine town Saint-Émilion. From there we followed several small country roads direction Northeast towards 45°N 0°. A country road passes it very close, you wouldn't even have to leave the car. The motorway A89 which passes in viewing distance in the North has an emergency exit here, but it's blocked by a fence and a gate. The CP lies on a green grassland which is enclosed by bushes, trees, and the formerly mentioned country road. In the vicinity of the CP a Geocache is hidden which we bagged, too.

About 100 meters south-east in a greenfield a steel pipe construction is standing which commemorates the very special Confluence point. But it doesn't have any annotation and remains cryptic for random passers-by without GPS. After taking the ususal pictures, we drove on back to the West direction 45°N 1°W.
