17-Jul-2016 -- Auf dem Rückweg aus dem Frankreich-Urlaub konnte noch der Konfluenzpunkt 49N 10E besucht werden.

Von Ulm kommend, führte der Weg durch Ellwangen und auf kleineren Straßen durch einige kleine Ortschaften, bis kurz nach einem Golfplatz auf der linken Seite der Parkplatz erreicht war. Hier zeigte das GPS nur noch ca. 1,4 km Luftlinie bis zum CP an. Die Einfahrt ist nur für Forstfahrzeuge frei, also ging es nun zu Fuß weiter.

Nach kurzem Marsch kam eine Kreuzung mit dem, aus den bereits erfolgten Besuchen, bekannten Schild mit dem Vermerk des Koordinatenschnittpunktes. Nun waren es nur noch 150 m auf dem "Einsiedelbachweg" und ab da wurde es ein wenig anstrengender. Nach dem Überspringen eines kleinen Baches, zwischen zwei Forstschildern, mit Bezeichnungen des jeweiligen Forstabschnittes, führte eine Schneise fast direkt nach oben, zum CP. Er liegt demnach im Forstabschnitt 40/42 "Einsiedelhalde". Ein Jäger-Hochsitz ließ bei starker Bewölkung und somit anbrechender Dämmerung beklemmende Gedanken aufkommen. Man musste oft den Zweigen des jungen und recht dichten Mischwaldes ausweichen und nach ca. 40 Metern war ein kleiner, fast freier Platz mit einem vermoderten Wurzelstumpf erreicht, auf dem sich der Konfluenzpunkt befindet. Das Gelände ist von Wildschweinspuren stark geprägt. Bei ungünstigen GPS-Empfang war dann doch das Foto mit den Nullen möglich. Viele Mückenstiche waren der Preis! Zurück zum Auto ging es denselben Weg und die Reise Richtung Norden weiter. Leider ging damit auch der Urlaub seinem Ende entgegen.

17-Jul-2016 -- On the way back from our holidays in France the confluence point 49N 10E could be visited.

By coming from Ulm the way leads through Ellwangen and further, on smaller roads, through some villages. Even a golf place, on the left side of the road, was passed, short before reaching the parking place on the beginning of a forest track. From here the GPS showed a distance to the CP of only 1.4 km beeline. The forest tracks are closed for cars so the walk begun.

After a short time a crossing appeared with a wooden sign, showing the crossing of longitude 10 and latitude 49. I knew it from the pictures of former visits. From here it was only further 150 m on the track along a track named "Einsiedelbachweg", and the visit became a bit more exhausting. After jumping over a little creek and choosing the way up between two forest signs, a swath leads further up in direction confluence.

The CP is located in the forest area named "40/42 Einsiedelhalde". A raised hide and bad light conditions caused by heavy cloud cover and the already beginning evening, led me have a quite bad scenario. I had to pass some branches of this young and dense growing forest and reached after about 40 m the nearer confluence area. It is a little square with an old nearly subverted trunk in the middle. Many traces of boar were around. Inspite of the bad GPS conditions I could do the picture with the many zeros. Some mosquito bites were the price! Now I went the same way back to the car and the journey direction north continued. Unfortunately with this also the holidays came to an end.
